Kwankwaso dumbs APC for PDP out of frustration.

Former Kano State governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso, in a move that may not be unconnected with an unending face-off between him and his successor, Governor Abdullahi Ganduje, has dumped the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for his former party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The former governor who currently is a serving senator reportedly re-joined crisis-ridden PDP along with 10 Kano State lawmakers.
While it was not yet clear what informed the defection, there is the assumption in some quarters that the move may not be unconnected with the strained relationship between him and his successor which has defied every peace move.
This March was exactly a year the state APC leadership reportedly made move to suspend him on what it termed anti-party engagements.
Kwankwaso, a presidential aspirant who came second to now President Muhammadu Buhari in APC’s presidential primaries was among the five governors of the PDP that in November 2013, decamped to the APC.
It is popularly believed that their defection contributed in no small measure to the emergence of APC as Nigerian ruling party.
Governors who defected from PDP to APC along Kwankwaso were Abdulfatah Ahmed (Kwara), Aliyu Wamakko (Sokoto), Murtala Nyako (Adamawa), Rotimi Amaechi (Rivers).
Strong PDP party men who joined them included Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, Senator Bukola Saraki, the then Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal, Shaba Lafiagi, Mohammed Ndume, Danjuma Goje, Abdullahi Adam, Bindo Jubrilla, Abdullahi Gobir among several others.
