Speaking on the matter, he said keeping people in prison custody without trail longer that the lawful permitted time is unlawful.
He queried why judges and security operatives has refused to release those granted bail by constituted courts as the situation has left over 47, 000 suspects till awaiting trail in prisons across the state with Lagos recording the highest number of un sentenced detainees.
In his speech, I quote " we must make a firm commitment to tackle the peoblems by changing our attitude and stand up for what is right".
"There are high - profile political detainees who ought to have been released but are still kept behind bars. Amongst them are ; Dasuki Sambo, Nnamdi Kanu, Shiekh El Zakzaky and many others
Osibanjo's call for the release of unlawful detained prisoners is in contrast with the president's point of view towards them.
